Nina Savićević (seen here at St Margaret's Topsham Sunday 21 January) Artistic Director Topsham Music Festival |
An alumna of the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatoire in St Petersburg, Nina's talent led to her being invited to give concert performances as a child. Later she was awarded a scholarship to study at Wells Cathedral School where she was entered in, and won, the Birmingham Piano Competition. She competed in various levels of the BBC Young Musician programme and received a scholarship to work with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. A scholarship from the Wyvon Wright Foundation has allowed her to successfully complete her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Piano Performance at the Royal Northern School of Music.
As an undergraduate student Nina took on the project of organising a music festival in Topsham, where she showcased performances by her talented fellow students - as well as local musicians like Duncan Honeybourne. The festival has been a great success, and she is continuing the series this year with six performances over three days. (Tickets from ticketsource.co.uk & Topsham Bookshop: 01392 877895)
